Fiorentina have sent an official faxed offer for Benjamin Stambouli, confirmed Montpellier, but Swansea are still in the running.
The midfielder is the subject of a bidding war between the two clubs at a cost of approximately €5m.
“All I can tell you is that an official fax arrived from Fiorentina asking for the player,” Montpellier Coach Roland Courbis told reporters today.
“This is why I didn’t call him up, as if he’s thinking of other matters, he cannot concentrate on his football.
“It is a delicate time, but this is now the moment that either Fiorentina or Swansea need to reach an agreement for him.”
