Palermo boss Beppe Iachini “can only apologise” to the fans after a 3-0 Coppa Italia home defeat to Modena.
The Rosanero are in Serie A this season, but crashed out of the Coppa in the Third Round last night.
“I’m sorry for the fans and can only apologise, but we had to evaluate certain things,” Iachini told reporters.
“I am relaxed, the team is training well and with time we will develop that work.
“We still need to work on certain situations, but this match was the only opportunity to test out some players.
“This is another step forward, but over the next few games we will start to see the usual Palermo.”
Meanwhile, Palermo have agreed terms with Columbus Crew to sign Costa Rica international defender Giancarlo ‘Pipo’ Gonzalez.
