Abel Hernandez: 'No to Benfica'

Abel Hernandez is allowed to leave Palermo, but “I’d prefer to wait for another offer” rather than Benfica.

The Uruguay international forward is valued at around €15m and has been linked with the likes of Juventus, Milan and Roma as well as overseas clubs.

Benfica made a proposal, but Hernandez told Tuttomercatoweb he would not be accepting.

“I thank Benfica and their President, but I prefer to wait for another offer from a different League.

“My future? Maurizio Zamparini told me that after the promotion to Serie A, he would let me leave.

“Do I want to quit Palermo? It can happen, but there’s nothing to say I don’t want to stay. We’ll see what happens.”
