Ignazio Abate believes that there is a ‘positive feeling’ around Milan going into the start of the new season.
The Rossoneri start their campaign against Lazio on Sunday, and the defender is ‘convinced’ that his side can shock the naysayers with many predicting bad things for the San Siro outfit.
“The feelings are positive,” he told Milan Channel this afternoon.
“We start a new season and we are convinced that we can do well. We have to work day after day with our heads down to improve.
“We must win back our fans with desire and humility. We hope we have launched a signal at the Tim Trophy. We will fight for every ball until the 90th minute and we can do great things. We believe we in ourselves.”
The Italy international also backs Pippo Inzaghi to impress as a tactician, and is delighted with how new signings Alex and Jeremy Menez have settled in.
“I think we are fortunate to have a great Coach. He has a very humble and works hard. We're trying to create the Rossoneri DNA in the dressing room and the principles that they were lost.
“The competition is tough and they are tricky. It will be a balanced game, we have to battle for every ball and start on the right foot. It's up to us to win back the fans.
“The club has set up a good team. The signings of Alex and Menez should not be underestimated, and then we have a few days of the window to go and Doctor Galliani will amaze us as always.”
