“It is an honour and a privilege” to wear the Milan jersey, said Fernando Torres as he flew in to complete his transfer from Chelsea.
The Spanish striker will undergo a medical after the two clubs agreed a two-year loan deal.
“It is an honour and a privilege to wear this jersey,” Torres told Milan Channel when arriving at Linate airport.
“I want to bring this team back into the Champions League and hopefully stay here for many years.
“I know a few of the players, like Alex, Essien and Diego Lopez. Demetrio Albertini also spoke very highly of Milan and he’s a great friend.
“I had already been close to Milan when I was at Atletico Madrid, but that was years ago and a long time has passed since then.
“I know the history of Milan – who doesnt’? – and it is glorious. I want to make the fans happy and couldn’t wait to land so I could start the new season.
“I have already spoken to the Coach.”
