Stefano Pioli believes Lazio “could’ve scored three or four too” against Milan, but weren’t determined enough.

The Aquile were beaten 3-1 at San Siro this evening, though the Rossoneri scored with their first three shots on target.

“In the first half we should’ve been more incisive, as Lazio did control the tempo,” said Pioli in his Press conference.

“Milan struck in the decisive moments, making the most of their only three efforts of the game. We had a generous performance, were more dangerous after the break and could’ve scored three or four too.

“Milan deserve credit, but we played with character, had 15 shots on goal and five or six really clear-cut chances. We should’ve been better at blocking their counter-attacks.

“The mistake was not keeping the defence high, but not picking up the second ball. We need to attack in a more determined and gritty fashion.”

Pioli was asked about Lazio’s transfer strategy and confirmed fans can expect more changes before tomorrow night’s deadline.

“I have a good squad at my disposal, but hope tomorrow we can still sell someone else, as there are too many right now.”
