Hellas Verona’s new striker Nico Lopez is flattered and unafraid of comparisons with Juan Manuel Iturbe.
Following the Argentine youngster’s sale to Roma this summer, the Gialloblu picked up Lopez from Udinese.
For the 20-year-old, the comparisons are clear and not to be shied away from.
“I'm pleased to be compared with him as we are both young and technical, though I think he's faster than I am,” Lopez admitted to reporters at his presentation today.

“He is a great player, he had an excellent reason and that's why he went to Roma. I wish him the best there.
“I hope to follow in his tracks here, I want to really show what I can do.”
The Uruguayan reflected on why he chose the Butei this summer.
“I had two or three teams looking for me after last season with Udinese. In the end I chose Verona because the city is beautiful and my family was also happy to move here.
“Besides, Verona director Sogliano followed me for a long time and did a great job to bring me here. Having played with champions like Totti, Marquez, Toni and Saviola is a dream come true for me.
“In Udine I tried to learn as much as possible from Di Natale and now I will try and do the same with Toni.
“I can tell that he likes helping young players, he talks to us a lot. He is a good teammate and he will make things easier.”
How far does Lopez plan to go?
“Now I must focus on training and showing what I can do. In Uruguay there are incredible strikers like Cavani and Suarez.
“But time is on my side. I plan to train to my utmost and I hope to reach the national team.”
