Albania Coach Gianni De Biasi encouraged his players to “dream” after a shock victory in Portugal.

The former Brescia, Torino and Udinese tactician was the name on everyone’s lips this week thanks to an extraordinary Euro 2016 qualifier in Lisbon, which Albania won 1-0.

“It’s a great result for a small country,” De Biasi told Radio Deejay.

“We made the most of Cristiano Ronaldo’s absence for Portugal, as they were not in their best form and fresh from a terrible World Cup campaign.”

That result prompted Paulo Bento to leave the Portugal bench.

“It was fundamental to start on the right foot, as our group is extremely difficult. Can we qualify? It doesn’t hurt to dream.

“I communicate with the Albanian players in Italian, as 15 or so understand the language.”
