The former Inter and Manchester City boss has been out of work since leaving Galatasaray at the end of last season.

Previously linked with the Italy job before Antonio Conte was hired and this week suggested as a possible candidate to succeed Rafa Benitez at Napoli, speculation since was that the 49-year-old was set for another venture abroad, with Lokomotiv Moscow in the picture.

It was believed that the former midfielder met with intermediaries from the Russian club and was negotiating a salary, apparently demanding up to €6m in annual earnings.

However, the Coach has taken to Twitter this week to clarify the situation as he sees it.

“For the fans asking me about #LokomotivMoscow… A great and prestigious club I haven't held talks with,” Mancini has posted in response.
