Milan seem committed to a new stadium as reports suggest Barbara Berlusconi has identified a new area which could house the Rossoneri.

Currently, the Diavolo share the Giuseppe Meazza with rivals Inter, but have been considering plans to construct and own a new ground, with it previously seen that the Expo area of city was favoured.

However, Tuttosport believe that the cost of purchasing the land in that area has led Rossonero directors to a rethink.

The newspaper states that an area of land six kilometres west of San Siro in the Baggio region has been identified by joint-CEO Barbara Berlusconi as a suitable area to construct a new stadium.

It is not yet clear whether this is a concrete plan, or simply a way to lower the asking price for land in the Expo area, but it appears Milan are set on owning their own stadium, following the lead of Juventus and Roma.

According to Tuttosport the club want to model any new stadium on Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium and Bayern Munich’s Allianz Arena.
