Inter director of sport Piero Ausilio is satisfied with the transfer campaign and promised “surprises in the near future.”

Ausilio said it made him “proud” to have his contract renewed by President Erick Thohir and the club continues working on long-term plans.

“For the Scudetto we’ll advance a bit at a time, as we are looking at a serious project and that means staying calm,” he told Sky Sport Italia.

“Mazzarri feels strong from the summer planning and the construction of the squad. We tried to push Inter forward and are convinced we did that while respecting the financial parameters.

“Now the results on the field will tell us how well the project has worked, but we have faith in ourselves. We want to do well on all fronts this season, but without making proclamations. Naturally we want to qualify for the Champions League and will try to go as high up the table as possible.”

Ausilio discussed some of the new arrivals and promised more on the horizon for the Nerazzurri.

“Every negotiation process is difficult, but if I think back to M’Vila and Medel I am amazed at how patient I was. I am proud of all the negotiations we brought to a positive conclusion.

“New players? We have a few under control, but I won’t name names. We are already operating on the market and monitoring situations. I am convinced there will be surprises in the near future.”
