Rudi Garcia said Roma solved their problems in Parma by “watching Miralem Pjanic score a genius free kick.”

The Giallorossi snatched a 2-1 victory at the Stadio Tardini with a late Pjanic gem after Adem Ljajic and Paolo De Ceglie goals.

“We played well with a very good first half that had quality possession. It’s always difficult to come to Parma and I really like Donadoni, even though we saw a more defensive Parma tonight,” Garcia told Sky Sport Italia.

“We did well not only to score the first goal, on which point I am very happy for Adem Ljajic, and I knew at the break we’d probably struggle on set plays. Other than those, we weren’t really allowing any chances.

“How did we resolve the situation? Gave Pjanic the ball and watched him score a genius free kick!

“The players do the work, but what a good Coach does is show the players how they can be brilliant. We played five games this season and never had the same defence twice. All of them are important and with this series of injuries, which thankfully ground to a halt today, I have at least been shown that I have many great men to rely on.”

Roma are still top of the table with Juventus, but Garcia insists the fans and media shouldn’t discuss a two-horse Scudetto race.

“Juve are very ambitious, we have done everything to close the gap, but it seems a bit early to talk about a duel between us and them for the title,” noted Garcia.
