Palermo and Italy Under-21 forward Andrea Belotti says that Andriy Shevchenko is his role model on and off the pitch.
The youngster has caught the eye with early season form and says that Milan’s former No 7 is a source of inspiration going forward.
“When I was a kid, I supported Milan and Shevchenko was my idol,” Belotti has told the Gazzetta dello Sport.

“When I was a kid, I supported Milan and Shevchenko was my idol,” Belotti has told the Gazzetta dello Sport.
“I think I look a bit like him because I can shoot with both feet and people never spoke about him off the pitch – he has always been a real role model for me.
“I would like to reach the double figure.”
Belotti is on the right track considering that he has scored five goals in three games between Palermo and Italy Under-21, including a brace against Napoli at Stadio San Paolo.
“I had never entered the pitch in Naples. I had only watched some footage on YouTube from the age of Maradona. The fact of scoring twice there just gives me goosebumps.”
