Beppe Iachini sees Palermo fans as still committed to supporting the team, despite Monday’s 4-0 defeat to Lazio at the Renzo Barbera.

The former Brescia and Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”7″>Sampdoria boss has come under scrutiny of late following the Rosanero’s winless start to their season back in Serie A, and that poor run continued in front of a home crowd against the Aquile.

“The team left the field to applause because the fans recognised the performance of the team for 75 minutes,” Iachini told Sportmediaset.

“We played some great stuff in the first half and responded well to going a goal down, as we peppered their goal on many occasions.

“Unfortunately we were not able to make the breakthrough, and we conceded a goal via their first shot on target. In the second half we tried hard, but after great play from Djordjevic on the second goal, the team lost confidence.

“We need to press on with our work and I'm sure things will improve.”
