Former Parma, Juventus and Bologna striker Marco Di Vaio has announced that he will retire from playing at the end of this month.

The 38-year-old has represented 11 different clubs during a 21-year playing career which has spanned four countries and included 14 caps and two goals for the Italian national team.

Out in the MLS with Canadian outfit Montreal Impact since 2012, the striker has confirmed that he will be hanging up his boots at the end of the regular season.

Out in the MLS with Canadian outfit Montreal Impact since 2012, the striker has confirmed that he will be hanging up his boots at the end of the regular season.

“After a 20-year career, I am pleased to announce that I will be retiring in Montreal as a member of the Impact,” Di Vaio has commented in a statement released on Montreal’s official website today.

“I am very proud of what I’ve accomplished over two decades as a pro. It was a dream of mine to play at the highest level and I will look to make the best of my final month as a player.”
