Roma striker Marco Borriello is linked with a transfer to new MLS club New York City FC.

According to Sky Sport Italia pundit Gianluca Di Marzio, the former Genoa and Milan centre-forward is giving the move some serious consideration.

The 32-year-old has not featured at all for his club this season and Roma would by all accounts be happy to take his wages off their accounts.

If Borriello does move to New York City FC, then he’ll be teammates with the likes of David Villa and Frank Lampard.

He spent last season on loan at West Ham United and his contract with Roma expires in June 2015.
