He was suffering from a calf problem and will need further tests to ascertain the extent of the damage.

It would be a heavy blow for Roma to lose him as well, as Daniele De Rossi, Kevin Strootman, Leandro Castan and Davide Astori are already sidelined.

Kostas Manolas will have to sit out a two-match Serie A ban following his red card against Juventus.
