According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Keita underwent tests that highlighted a lesion in the muscle.
This means it is extremely unlikely he will be fit for next week’s Serie A game against Chievo or more importantly the Champions League with Bayern Munich.
The German title holders visit the Stadio Olimpico on October 21.
It’s a heavy blow for the Giallorossi, who already have Daniele De Rossi, Kevin Strootman, Davide Astori and Leandro Castan on the treatment table.
