Jeremy Menez has spoken about his move to Milan, revealing the Ibiza meeting with Filippo Inzaghi and Adriano Galliani sealed the deal.

The 27-year-old returned to Italy with the Rossoneri this summer at the expiry of his Paris Saint-Germain contract.

“In my last season with PSG, I was not ostracised but I was not a favourite of Laurent Blanc,” the Frenchman has told Canal + this week.

“I’d have liked to have had more dialogue with him, a little mutual respect would have been good for everyone.

“That’s why meeting with Adrianio Galliani and Filippo Inzaghi was crucial, they showed they have confidence in me.

“Meeting with them in Ibiza was crucial for me. After that I chose to commit myself to Milan.

“Every player is different, but I’m someone who needs to feel confident to be at my best. I like to have a good relationship with the people I work with.”

Menez has made a flying start to his Milan career, with three goals in his opening six games, including an audacious backheel in a 5-4 victory over Parma, which the 27-year old admits was ‘madness’.

“I just did what came into my head. There’s a bit of madness in my game! To do things like that you must have faith in yourself, and have an open mind.”
