The 32-year-old, who joined the Rossoneri on a free transfer this summer from Paris Saint-Germain, has reflected on his motivation for the move and how he has found the early adaptation.

“I am tired, but happy,” the former Chelsea man has told Tuttosport today.

“My goal was to arrive at a big club like Milan, which has its own history and is known all over the world.

“I knew full well that I would have to work much harder than in the past. Because in Italy, both tactically and physically, there is greater attention to detail on everything.

“This means that you work harder both tactically and physically. I’ve never trained so much! Inzaghi, despite being young, has an incredible desire to win.

“He thinks about football 24 hours a day, and then we watch a lot of videos. We are always in front of the TV, watching our opponents and trying to understand them.”

Unlike most of his teammates, Alex actually faced Inzaghi as a player during the former’s stint at PSV Eindhoven, and the Brazilian sees similarities between Inzaghi the player and Inzaghi the Coach.

“Inzaghi as a player? Yes, I remember him. I played against him for PSV. He’s the same now as he was then – he never stops.

“Back then we studied opponents less, but when you found yourself playing against him you understood right away what kind of player he was.”

Milan currently sit in fifth place in Serie A, but while the Rossoneri have matched League leaders Juventus in terms of goals scored, Inzaghi’s side have also conceded nine goals in just six games, including surrendering four goals to Parma at the Tardini in an incredible 5-4 victory.

“A team like Milan can’t concede the goals we conceded against Parma. We made mistakes, both individually and as a team.

“We’re working towards having a good understanding between us centre-backs, but it takes time. However, we’re on the right track.”
