Albania Coach Gianni De Biasi blamed Serbian officials for the “traumatic experience” in their abandoned game.

The Euro 2016 qualifier was suspended after 42 minutes when a drone carrying a political message referring to the 1998-99 war flew over the stadium.

“It was a traumatic experience and what we didn’t think could possibly happen actually happened,” declared former Brescia tactician De Biasi.

“We had been playing well. Unfortunately we were unable to finish the game after the fans ran on to the pitch. That was incredible and a situation of immense danger.”

Most worrying of all, De Biasi and his staff claim four Albania players were left with facial injuries because they were attacked by fans “but also by the security staff, which is incredibly serious.

“The stadium in Belgrade was completely inadequate for that type of match. Will Serbia be awarded a 3-0 defeat? There are authorities who must decide that, but the images are clear for everyone to see. It was extremely dangerous and the stadium was inadequate.”

Albania remained in the locker room until 1.30am, but there were 5,000 fans waiting for them at the airport in Tirana at 3.25am.

The team was welcomed by Vice-President of Albania Niko Peleshi and Minister of Sport Lindita Nikolli.
