“But to keep thinking about it would be a disservice. Which is not to say that it was wrong to react in a strong way.”
Totti also considered other subjects, such as catching Silvio Piola in the all-time Serie A scoring charts, and playing on beyond this season.
“The urge to play is always the same and I will continue on for as long as I feel good. Certainly the love of the fans, the passion that surrounds me and the affection with which I am always followed are an important spring that pushes me to give my best.
“Silvio Piola’s scoring record in Serie A? I believe in it. I am convinced that it will not be easy but it is a goal for me.
“Clearly I would gladly exchange all my personal objectives for an important victory for Roma. I ma sure that in recent years there will be satisfaction.
