Rolando Maran has spoken about his plans as new Chievo Coach, demanding his side play with ‘courage and aggression’.

The Flying Donkeys sacked Eugenio Corini on Sunday after a poor start to the season has left them in 18th place in Serie A.

The club then moved quickly to appoint Maran, who spent nine years with the Butei as a player, and presented him to the media today.

“It’s exciting for me to sign for Chievo because of my past here,” Maran told today’s Press conference.

“We need a fighting spirit. Chievo cannot afford to play without courage and aggression.”

Maran also took the time to commiserate with his predecessor Corini.

“I’m not here to talk about people who preceded me, but I know how it feels to be on the other side.

“I’ve spoken to Eugenio Corini, and I spare a thought for him.”
