Giampiero Ventura praised Torino’s approach to beat HJK Helsinki 2-0, but insists the Europa League group “is still open.”

The Granata are top of Group B with seven points and haven’t conceded a goal, while Club Brugge were pegged back 1-1 by FC Copenhagen and trail on five points.

“We wanted to get a result this evening and we achieved our aims,” said Ventura.

“We played with a sense of logic, using up as little energy as possible. I’d say it was a deserved victory, but our group is still open. We’re top now, but there are another three games to go.

“The attitude was the most important thing this evening rather than the result. I’d say that at the final whistle we are satisfied.

“I was told that playing the Europa League would be a pain for Torino this season, but we don’t see it that way.

“I am particularly happy that Amauri got his goal, as he’d been looking for one.”
