The 21-year-old has been an ever-present for the Zebrette this season, and their sporting director Cristiano Giaretta intimated last month that the club may not be able to hold on to the Switzerland international for much longer.

Lichtsteiner, meanwhile, faces the prospect of leaving the Bianconeri at the end of the season.

The right-back’s contract expires next summer, and talks over a renewal have hit a stumbling block, reportedly over the former Lazio” data-scaytid=”11″>Lazio man’s demands.

According to Tuttosport, it is a situation that has Juve considering possible replacements and including Widmer in those plans.

The Bianconeri are expected to speak to Udinese about a possible deal for the youngster when they sit down with Friuliani officials to discuss Roberto Pereyra’s loan arrangement next summer.
