Palermo Coach Giuseppe Iachini lamented his side’s defeat at Juventus, insisting Carlos Tevez was offside for the Bianconeri’s crucial second goal.

The Rosanero were defeated 2-0 at Juventus Stadium, with goals from Arturo Vidal and Fernando Llorente powering Massimiliano Allegri’s men to victory.

However, Iachini insists Juve’s second goal should never have stood, as Tevez was offside as Llorente’s header made its way toward goal.

“That goal killed us, but Tevez was offside,” Iachini reflected in post-match analysis.

“I’m disappointed, because it’s not the first time we’ve been penalised by refereeing decisions.

“When it was still 1-0 I sent [striker Andrea] Belotti on to try and level things up, but at 2-0 the game is over.”

Iachini did however concede that his side had a hand in their own downfall, admitting that his team weren’t at the races for the opening 15 minutes.

“We’re a young team, and in the first quarter of an hour we suffered the impact of the [Juventus] Stadium.

“We were frightened, and we didn’t pass the ball cleanly. Overall though I’m not unhappy with the performance.

“In fact, there’s still a little bit of bitterness, because the first goal was as a result of one of our bad clearances.

“When you find yourself facing quality players like Juventus have, if you lose the ball on the wings as we did you’re likely to lose a goal, and that’s what happened.

“Juve proved they are a strong team, and also a very clinical one.”
