Two-time FIFA World Player of the Year winner Mia Hamm has joined Roma’s board of directors today, the club have confirmed.

The American footballer, who represented her country for 17 years scoring over 150 goals, is included in the new Giallorosso board, which was approved during the club’s shareholders’ meeting today.

The 42-year old has also won a World Cup in 1999 and two gold medals at the Olympics in Atlanta in 1996 and Athens in 2004.

Former President Thomas DiBenedetto and CEO Claudio Fenucci, who will reportedly join Joe Tacopina in Bologna, both leave the board, with Hamm and Richard D’Amore taking their places.

The new board line-up, which no longer includes Unicredit, will now be in charge until June 2017.
