Nobody expected Mandragora to be in the starting XI at Marassi for this huge game, but Gasperini has taken a gamble on the young Italian.

Born in Scampia, the most impoverished and notorious quarter of Naples, he only turned 17 on June 29 and is therefore the youngest player to feature in Serie A this season.

He is a midfielder in the Thiago Motta vein, so Gasperini hopes to bring back some of that magic from his previous Genoa side.

Rolly comes from a football family, as his father is the technical director of the Naples football school owned by Paolo and Fabio Cannavaro.

Despite that, he was turned down in trials with Juventus, Roma, Palermo and Atalanta” data-scaytid=”29″>Atalanta at the age of 13.

Genoa promoted him to the senior squad over the summer and he is being thrown straight in at the deep end against the Serie A leaders.
