Udinese have issued a denial after reports suggested Luis Muriel has been working with his own personal staff rather than club employees.

The Gazzetta dello Sport had claimed this week that the Colombian had been working with a posturologist, an osteopath and a nutritionist from outside the Friuli club, whilst still in agreement with the Zebrette.

Udinese, however, have taken the step today to deny those reports in a statement on the club website.

“With regard to news relating to personal staff giving the footballer Luis Muriel programs for athletic training, nutritional advice and posture, Udinese Calcio states that the athlete works exclusively in accordance with the directions and guidelines of the staff of head Coach Andrea Stramaccioni for technical and athletic matters, and Doctor Claudio Rigo for medical issues.”

The club also included a response from Zebrette director general Franco Collavino.

“I am disappointed and surprised by the spread of such news,’” Collavino’s statement reads.

“And I confirm the unconditional trust in the technical staff of the club, the athletic and medical departments are composed of professionals with years of experience who work with commitment and dedication every day to achieving the best results on the pitch, and in the prevention and treatment of problems related to health and rehabilitation.”
