Roma have been dealt a slight boost with the news that Davide Astori may only miss around 15 days of action with a thigh injury.

The defender pulled up with a suspected strain during the Giallorossi’s midweek win over Cesena and speculation today was that he could face at least three weeks on the sidelines.

However, Roma have confirmed in an update from training that tests have revealed the 27-year-old has suffered only a first degree strain of his left hamstring.

“Tests on Astori were carried out on the same day [as his injury], which showed a first-degree lesion of the left biceps femoris. The player has now started receiving treatment,” reads the club’s statement on their website.

According to Sky Sport 24, Astori could be out for a little as 15 days. Already out of the squad to face Napoli, the defender is likely to also sit out tests with Bayern Munich and Torino, before returning after the November international break.
