Filippo Inzaghi has rebuffed claims by Ignazio Abate that Milan must rediscover ‘humility’ if they’re to turn around a recent slump.

Milan were beaten 2-0 at San Siro by Palermo on Sunday night, and full-back Abate stated in the aftermath that Milan had the wrong attitude going into the game.

Inzaghi has hit back at the Italy international’s claims ahead of the Diavolo’s trip to Sampdoria” data-scaytid=”9″>Sampdoria, however, insisting Milan did not underestimate the Sicilian side

“I don’t know what he [Abate] meant,” Inzaghi told journalists in his pre-match Press conference.

“After it went to 2-0 we were disorganised, everyone wanted to put things right individually.

“We have to grow and to learn.

“We don’t underestimate any game. The result of every game is because of individual moments.

“A team which underestimates its opponent doesn’t have three clear-cut chances and 70 per cent of the ball.

“We reacted badly after two goals in quick succession, that could kill any team.”

Inzaghi was whistled by the San Siro faithful in the aftermath of the Palermo defeat, but the tactician holds no grudges.

“They were right to whistle,” Inzaghi insisted. “We had just lost at home.

“All it takes is a little patience. I really believe that Sunday’s game didn’t affect us negatively.

“I could see the spirit was intact as early as Tuesday morning.”
