Erick Thohir has apparently spoken to Walter Mazzarri more than once this week to express confidence in him.

The Coach has come under increased pressure of late for Inter’s drop in form, with Week 11’s draw at home to Verona prompting speculation that his President may be planning a change on the bench.

However, on from expressing his confidence publicly in the 53-year-old, Thohir has reportedly spoken to Mazzarri this week.

According to a report in today’s Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri President called the Coach on at least two occasions this week to discuss the squad’s recent struggles.

The pink paper claims that the conversations were amicable, with Thohir promising the former Napoli boss more time to turn around the side’s fortunes, whilst acknowledging current issues have been affected by the team’s injury crisis.

Inter currently have first-team players including Hugo Campagnaro, Danilo D’Ambrosio, Jonathan, Yann M’Vila and Fredy Guarin sidelined.
