Francesco Coco has criticised Erick Thohir ahead of the upcoming Derby della Madonnina, claiming that the Inter President ‘knows nothing about football’.

The former Italy left-back, who represented both Milan and Inter during his playing career, has today assessed the difficulty that both clubs find themselves in ahead of a Week 12 derby.

“On an economic level, both teams don’t invest like the big clubs most of the time,” Coco told SocialCalcioNews.

“For Milan, I think it’s up to Berlusconi. He keeps on saying that he wants the best for Milan, but he doesn’t want to make any more investments, and at the same time, he doesn’t want to sell.

“As for Inter, Moratti sold [the club] due to financial difficulties. Thohir knows nothing about the world of football and is struggling to understand how to run a football team.”

Coco then revealed his favourite derby experience and backed Inter to emerge victorious on November 23.

“I played in the derby for both clubs, but I’ll never forget what happened in May 2001 – Inter 0-6 Milan. It was an unforgettable moment,” he added.

“It’ll be a difficult game. They both have few points and possess two vulnerable defences.

“It’s a derby and it’ll end up like one, but I see Inter’s attack being stronger, so for me Mazzarri's team will win, but by only 2-1.

“As a team, I think [Inter are] better right now.”
