Manchester City are ready to take advantage of Juventus' inability to commit Stephan Lichtsteiner to a new deal, reports Tuttosport.

The right-back's contract expires at the end of the season and he is yet to sign a renewal with the Bianconeri, with the hold-up thought to be influenced by the Switzerland international's demands.

Lichtsteiner currently earns under  €2m a year at Juventus and is apparently keen to raise his salary to between €3m and €3.5m, but the club are seen as only willing to meet him at €2.5m.
