The last few days have been dominated by reports a group of players, including Marco Borriello and Daniele De Rossi, attended a strip club in Moscow just hours after their disappointing 1-1 Champions League draw with CSKA.

“Enough of this stupid rubbish. I am here to talk about football and important things. When a team goes out in their team uniform, there is nothing to hide,” noted Garcia in his Press conference.

“We were all angry after that result, then Morgan De Sanctis and some others voiced that disappointment to the media. Morgan forgot to say he too was responsible for the goal, but he acknowledged that in a fantastic way and as a Coach I can only rely on the unity of my squad.”

Inter are unbeaten since sacking Walter Mazzarri, as Mancini has earned a 1-1 draw against Milan and 2-1 Europa League victory over Dnipro.

“He has won many titles and not only at Inter, even if I never like to see a Coach fired the way Mazzarri was. When a club makes a decision, I guess it seems like the right one, but at times things don’t work out.

“We can only judge Inter on their last two games. We know they have strong players, that they now have four at the back and studied them carefully, but the important thing is for us to play like Roma so that we prevent Inter making the most of their strengths.

“It’s normal that a team will change attitude and be more concentrated when a new Coach arrives. Inter are still the same side, but they’ll have more of a fighting spirit. What I’ve seen so far is a quality team with a few weak points.”

Roma have been utterly dominant on home turf in Serie A this season, earning six consecutive victories without conceding a goal.

“That means we are on our home turf and that our fans are important to us. Their support is crucial, even though they are far from the pitch due to the athletics track. I speak to the fans and they have been fantastic since the moment I arrived.

"We are only three points behind Juventus in the Serie A table and we all know how those three points came about…" added Garcia, referring to their contentious 3-2 defeat in Turin.

Gervinho appears to have gone off the boil recently, while Kevin Strootman is hoping for more playing time after his lengthy injury lay-off.

“If we take all the games into consideration, Gervinho is doing as well as last year. In most of the goals, he’s in there somewhere as part of the move or with an assist. He didn’t play well in Moscow and I expect more from him, as I do from everyone. When we know what he’s capable of, it’s normal to expect more.

“Strootman is already fit, but not at 100 per cent. He needs chunks of games and to be introduced slowly back into the side. He is a great player and all of Europe wants him, but he will be fundamental and I am happy he’s at Roma with his quality and his determination.”

Douglas Maicon and Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa are back in the squad, though Leandro Castan and Vasilis Torosidis are still sidelined.

“Maicon is not our only right-back, but when he plays he does impose himself on the game with his physical strength, especially going forward. He will be called up, then we’ll see if he starts or not.”
