The German international had not found the net for eight months and missed more sitters this afternoon before finally getting on target.
“His quality is not up for debate. He has been in good shape for two or three weeks and we all hope he has definitively broken through,” Montella told Sky Sport Italia.

“The result could’ve been bigger for both sides, considering the number of scoring opportunities. We did well to contain Cagliari, especially in the first half, but I think the victory was thoroughly deserved.”
