Gian Piero Gasperini confessed “Empoli played better” than Genoa in their Coppa Italia encounter.
The Tuscans emerged 2-0 winners in the Fourth Round tie and will face Roma in the next phase.
“We encountered an Empoli side in good shape, they got off to a stronger start and undoubtedly played better,” Gasp told Rai Sport.
“We did well in the first half, but gifted them a goal and the game got complicated, as we lacked the intensity needed.
