Giovanni Trapattoni confirmed he has “given my word to a couple of national teams” and received an offer from Palermo.

The 75-year-old is a free agent, but has absolutely no intention of retirement.

“My future? I will certainly get back to work on a bench,” Trap told Tuttomercatoweb.

“Many directors offered me other roles: director general and other things, but I don’t think I am suited to work behind a desk.

It’s reported that one of those is Greece, who fired Claudio Ranieri last month.

Meanwhile, Trapattoni also revealed he could’ve been one of the many Coaches appointed by Palermo President Maurizio Zamparini.

“I’ve always had a good rapport with Zamparini, as we have boats moored in the same place, so every now and then we chat and exchange ideas.

“There has been the thought of collaborating a few times. First he offered me the bench, then not long ago the role of collaborator to help a young Coach. Nothing came of it, but in future never say never…”
