Cesena are reportedly on the verge of sacking Pierpaolo Bisoli and replacing him with Davide Ballardini.

The Cavallucci Marini’s 3-2 defeat to Atalanta at the weekend worsened their start to the season to make it just the one win from the opening 14 rounds.

Sat 19th in the table and already three points adrift of safety, the club are seen to have made a decision overnight to remove Bisoli as Coach, and are reportedly meeting to determine his exit today.

It is strongly rumoured that Davide Ballardini will be installed as Bisoli’s replacement and that his arrival and even media presentation could occur during Monday.

Ballardini is believed to have reached a verbal agreement with President Giorgio Lugaresi last week to come in as the prospective replacement.

The former Cagliari, Genoa and Bologna boss is apparently in line for an initial six-month deal, with an automatic renewal in place should Cesena avoid relegation this term.

Following yesterday’s reverse to Atalanta, Bisoli faced questions on his future and admitted the decision was out of his hands.
