The Viola climbed up to seventh place with this comfortable win at the Stadio Dino Manuzzi.

“We are happy with the victory, as the team has found the right mentality and we must maintain it,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia.

“When we are able to put this ferocity on to the field and unite it with our quality, then performances like this emerge.

“I promised not to look at the table until after Christmas, so I’m not going to comment on it now.”

Cesena did score a goal, but only thanks to Norberto Neto failing to control a Stefan Savic backpass.

“It’s a shame, but over the course of a season a goalkeeper can make mistakes, even a serious one like that. He was fortunate, as the team managed to win anyway.

“Mario Gomez was always in the game, so it’s a shame he didn’t get the goal. Mati Fernandez is finally showing what he can do consistently, whereas before this quality had only been spotted in glimpses.”
