The Partenopei take part in the Italian Super Cup this evening in Doha at 17.30 GMT, as the Coppa Italia holders face Scudetto winners Juventus.

“Will Benitez have the patience to wait for Napoli to grow? If he doesn’t, then we’ll continue without him,” President De Laurentiis told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“Will Benitez have the patience to wait for Napoli to grow? If he doesn’t, then we’ll continue without him,” President De Laurentiis told La Gazzetta dello Sport.

“For example, Chelsea are continuing quite happily without him. If he doesn’t like our project, then we’ll get over it.”

Benitez only has a contract to the end of the current campaign and has continually put off negotiations for an extension.

ADL also commented on reports he is ready to sell Napoli to foreign investors.

“At most, Napoli will be sold by my children after I die, if they are not able to run the club. I have a few ideas on how to increase revenue, but I had to break away from the council due to the stadium problem.

“I am thinking of opening up to something close to selling shares to fans. We have five or six million supporters in the world, after all.”
