The French Coach has given an interview to Roma Radio, where he discussed everything from French music to Italian wine, as well as talking about football matters.

“Initially the fans were skeptical about me,” Garcia reflected on his arrival in Rome in 2013.

“I was told that they were difficult, but it’s not true, the fans are fantastic and intelligent, they understand that we’re giving everything on the pitch.

“We’ve happened to lose a few games, but the fans have realised what we’re building with our hearts and with our energy.

“When you experience your first game at the Stadio Olimpico, you immediately understand the passion of the Curva Sud.

“Ever since I arrived they’ve supported us in a big way, starting songs and enthusiastic chants to support us. After games I want to salute the whole stadium.

“I work every day for the future of this club, as though I’ll spend my life in Rome, at least until they chase me out!

“We have the same ambitions, let’s go forward together.”

The former Lille Coach was also asked about his bold prediction that Roma would go on to lift the title at the end of the season, and insisted that he believes every word.

“Do I really mean it? Yes. What matters is the communication with the players behind closed doors.

“I’m their leader, I make sure to communicate my energy, I want them to show the results on the field, giving their all and expressing a certain style of play.

“I know that the people management of everyone we have here and of the media is very important. I always try to respect everyone and everything, but I still try to say what I think.

“While still respecting others, if you do that then it’s normal to disagree.”
