The forward touched down at the Capodichino airport and was met by over 900 supporters this evening.

Reports from the city claim the sheer number of supporters caused chaos, blocking the exits for people who were on the same flight from Genoa.

It was so bad that the security staff decided to lead Gabbiadini out by a side exit to avoid a riot breaking out and picked him up directly from the runway.

Fans spent an hour beforehand singing and dancing in the airport, including anti-Juventus chants.

Also present were Napoli team manager Paolo de Matteis and Press officer Guido Baldari.

Costing €13m, Gabbiadini becomes the most expensive mid-season signing in the history of Napoli.

This season the 23-year-old has scored seven Serie A goals in 13 games.
