While rumours of the current Vesuviani Coach parting ways with his club have been allayed somewhat since the Partenopei's victory against Juventus in the Supercoppa Italiana, speculation is still afoot on who might succeed the former Chelsea boss.

The Gazzetta dello Sport reports today that the hottest name for the bench of the Azzurri next summer may be that of Montella.

The paper suggests that Montella could be on his way out of Fiorentina at the end of the season, with La Viola preparing to move for Sassuolo’s Eusebio Di Francesco as replacement, or failing that Andrea Stramaccioni of Udinese.

Should Napoli part ways with Benitez, then the Gazzetta suggest the most credible replacement, most favoured by the Naples club, will be Montella.

However, President Aurelio De Laurentiis is also listed as keeping an eye on Sampdoria's Sinisa Mihajlovic as an alternative candidate.
