Andrea Stramaccioni feels Udinese did very well to earn a point at Sassuolo despite numerous injury problems.

Antonio Di Natale pulled out with flu symptoms before kick-off and during the first half Alexander Geijo went off with a suspected hamstring strain.

“I think with all honesty that a draw reflects the course of the game, which was played with an open approach from both sides,” Strama told Sky Sport Italia.

“Unfortunately we also lost Geijo and I was forced to reconsider some things, but we changed shape and did well in the second half, suffering less on the right flank.

Sassuolo are in good shape and fresh from a great victory over Milan. We were decimated and I had no other options on the bench. We really could’ve done without Alex’s injury and I don’t think it’s a slight problem either.

“On Sunday we have our version of the Champions League against Cagliari. We’re in an emergency situation, but at least the lads showed character today in the circumstances.”
