Gian Piero Gasperini complained that Inter’s second goal should’ve been disallowed as Genoa lost 3-1.

Mauro Icardi doubled the Nerazzurri’s lead before half-time by nodding in a corner, but the visitors complained of a push.

“In the first half we did not do well, but much better after the break,” Gasp told Sky Sport Italia.

“It’s a shame we didn’t get back into the game earlier and conceded that second goal right before half-time.

“Icardi’s goal should’ve been disallowed, as the push was obvious. We started badly partly through our fault and partly because Inter came right out of the blocks. We were unable to start moves from the back and if we don’t play good football, we struggle.”

Genoa had been on spectacular form, but now have one point from the last four rounds and Alessandro Matri went off with a calf injury.

“We didn’t have another centre-forward today. The team played well in the second half, though, and I want to underline that aspect of the game.”
