The site reports that the Viola are now in negotiations with the Chinese champions, with the idea being to bring in Gilardino on an initial loan deal before purchashing the forward outright in the summer.
The World Cup winner spent four years in Florence between 2008 and 2012, scoring 59 goals in 143 games in all competitions.
