Juventus have reportedly been spurred into action by Arsenal interest, buying Daniele Rugani from Empoli.

The 20-year-old defender has been heavily linked with a move to London over the last few days, having also already earned a call into the senior Italy squad.

He is currently co-owned between Juve and Empoli, but the Bianconeri had an option to buy the remaining 50 per cent for €4m.

According to Sky Sport Italia and Tuttosport, the option has been exercised, but Rugani will remain on loan at Empoli for the rest of the season.

It means that if Arsenal did want to sign Rugani, they’d have to negotiate with Juventus.
