Now La Gazzetta dello Sport claims that Cassano has his heart set on Inter – the club he always supported – and Roberto Mancini is open to the idea.

Cassano joined the Nerazzurri in August 2012, but left a year later for Parma, publicly blaming then-Coach Walter Mazzarri for his departure.

Now that Mazzarri has been replaced by Mancini, a Coach Cassano admires and respects, a comeback is on the cards.

He scored nine goals in 39 games for Inter, providing 15 assists.

Cassano is available for Europa League football and would replace Daniel Osvaldo.

It’s believed a meeting on Monday will be decisive, although as a free agent he can be signed even after the transfer deadline.
