“It’s difficult to win because it is never easy in Udine,” said Allegri in his Press conference.
“They are coming off a victory over Empoli, play very well running into space and have Antonio Di Natale who always seems to score a goal. Considering this moment of the campaign, it is a match we must face with great concern. Football is one of the few sports where the weaker side can beat the stronger one.
“We are also getting closer to the head-to-head with Roma and must get there in the best possible form. To do that, we need to continue winning.
“A seven-point lead is nothing. You just need two draws and already you’ve fumbled four points. We cannot afford mistakes. It’s also a worry to be playing in the afternoon, as we’re used to all our games being in the evening.
“The maturity of a team can also be seen in not playing all that well, creating few chances, but winning anyway. This is fundamental when winning a League title. You can’t always win while playing brilliant football.”
Allegri hinted Simone Padoin could move into midfield to stick with the 4-3-3 system, but denied reports of a blazing row with Vidal following a couple of substitutions.
“I was amazed with the headlines in Tuttosport. If a player is angry when he comes off the pitch I’d say that is part and parcel of normal football life. There were no clear the air talks because there was no need.
“This season is difficult for Vidal, as he had a knee operation and then went to the World Cup, so it’s normal he is not 100 per cent fit. The staff did well to put him in a condition to play, but you never know when the pain will come back.
“He had a knock to the ankle against Parma, but I think he’ll be available against Milan. We have Paolo De Ceglie back and he can be useful with Asamoah out, but if Giovinco leaves early – as seems likely – then we will certainly need another striker.”
